Product Liability and China

China has had a rash of faulty and fraudulent products recently prompting the product liability attorneys in the U. S. to take notice. First there was the tainted pet food. Then there were the tainted toys. Lead paint and faulty magnets prompted the largest toy recall ever from Mattel at 20 million units.

The news today is that a Chinese manufacturing firm has been shipping bogus diabetes strips to the U. S. Also, there are reports that a nasty pig virus has broken out in China and been spreading like wildfire, though the Chinese government is trying to do damage control via dial of these claims.

Look for many major product liability cases to pop up over the next years as lawyers will likely be bringing lawsuits against the whole manufacturing and distribution chain for products that have injured persons, pets and property.
